A youth group in Finsbury Park gives out free grocery parcels once a month, and the next hand-out is at 3pm on Sunday 15 November. Anyone in need can come.

The group is called Revelation Champions. It was set up by young people from a local church, Celestial Church of Christ, and it runs on donated food.

When and where

  • When: 3pm on the third Sunday of every month
  • Next dates: Sunday 15 November, then Sunday 20 December if the monthly pattern holds
  • Where: the junction of Tollington Park and Stroud Green Road, N4. This is a new spot; the group has moved there from its previous location.
  • What is in a parcel: dry and tinned staples such as rice, pasta, cereal and tinned food
  • Who can come: anyone who needs it

October’s hand-out was set for yesterday, Sunday 18 October.

Who runs it

The church behind the group is a registered charity. The Charity Commission register lists it as Celestial Church of Christ Revelation of Hope Parish, charity number 1192163, based at Leeds Place, London N4 3RF.

The phone number and email address the group gave us for donations are the same ones the charity has registered with the Commission. In its accounts for the year to 30 June 2025 the church reported income of £62,984, three trustees and three volunteers.

It is a small operation, and the food parcels depend on what local people give.

What it means for you

If money is tight before the end of the month, the hand-out is open to anyone who needs it, a short walk from Finsbury Park station. Turn up at 3pm on 15 November.

If you want to help, the group is asking shops, businesses and residents for unopened, in-date food. The parcels are made up of long-life staples, so that is the kind of food that goes furthest.
